When you have set aside time out of your schedule for something, you would probably prefer that it takes less time than scheduled instead of more. When it comes to having your home inspected, there are a few things that you can do to minimize the time it will take.

Naturally, anything that is broken, malfunctioning or incorrect will make your inspection take longer, so making sure that necessary repairs are done beforehand will be to your benefit. If a lightbulb is out, change it so the inspector can test that the switch and socket are working.

You should also clear out the areas that the inspector needs to access to do his inspection. Sometimes all you would need to do is clear away clutter, but it could involve cutting back bushes around your air conditioning unit or similar things, so that the inspector has access to all areas of the home.
